Terms of Service
Plain-English terms covering assessments, pricing, the limits of what cleaning can achieve, consent and liability.
These terms are a working draft provided as a starting point and are not legal advice. PAST SOLES should have them reviewed by a qualified adviser before trading.
Assessments and quotes
All prices published on this site are starting points. A final price is confirmed only after we have assessed photographs of your pair, and Restoration work is quoted individually.
An assessment is free and places you under no obligation. No work begins until you have approved both the proposed treatment and the price.
Limitations of care
Sneaker care carries inherent risk. We assess each pair individually and will decline work we do not believe is in the shoe’s interest. Cleaning cannot reverse structural damage, sole separation, deep cracking, permanent discolouration or normal ageing.
We will state the result we realistically expect before starting. Where a treatment carries risk to the shoe, we will explain that risk and let you decide, or decline the work.
Your responsibilities
Please tell us about prior repairs, customisation, aftermarket paint, adhesives or treatments, and about any pair of unusual value. Undisclosed prior work can react unpredictably to cleaning.
Remove personal items from the shoes before handing them over. We cannot accept responsibility for items left inside.
Liability
We take reasonable care with every pair. We are not liable for pre-existing damage, for deterioration inherent to the age and condition of the materials, or for outcomes we explicitly identified as uncertain during the assessment.
Where we are at fault for damage caused by our own work, we will discuss a fair resolution with you directly.
Images, stories and consent
We record before-and-after condition images of every pair as part of the service. These are shared with you.
Publishing images, publishing your story, and filming are separate permissions that you grant or decline individually. Nothing is published without your explicit permission, and permission can be withdrawn at any time by emailing us.
Payment, collection and cancellation
Payment terms are confirmed in your quote. Collection and return within the Manchester area is arranged directly with you and priced by location.
You may cancel at no cost at any point before work begins. If work has already started, we will discuss a fair position based on the stage reached.
Pricing note
Final pricing is confirmed after a photo assessment. Some permanent wear, colour loss, cracking and material damage cannot be fully reversed.
